Dianne J. Spaulding
Executive Director
Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California

Dianne Spaulding is in her fourteenth year as the Executive Director for the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California (more commonly referred to as NPH). NPH supports over 750 members representing housing practitioners and the developers of affordable housing primarily in the nine counties around the San Francisco Bay Area.

During Dianne's tenure NPH has gained a national reputation for many of its capacity building initiatives and leadership in the housing policy arena. Recently NPH launched its Inclusionary Housing Initiative (IHI), a regional multi-year campaign, to increase the supply of affordable housing primarily through advocacy and technical assistance aimed at increasing awareness of inclusionary zoning as an innovative and effective policy option to boost affordable housing production. In both 2006 and 2002 NPH played a leadership role in the efforts to secure the passage of Proposition 1 C ($2.85 billion in general obligation bonds for housing) and Proposition 46 ($2.1 billion in housing bonds). California voters passed both of these measures overwhelmingly.

Dianne is an active contributor to the field of housing and community development serving as the Chairperson of the California Housing Consortium (CHC). Dianne is also a member of the NHC Executive Committee as the elected Regional Representative from California. She is also the Past President of Housing California, the largest statewide coalition of homeless and housing providers in the nation. In 2006 Dianne was in the first group of housing professionals inducted into the newly created California Housing Hall of Fame conveyed by the California Housing Consortium.

Dianne is a graduate of the University of California. She has held numerous positions including tenure as the Regional Director for the Bay Area Information and Retrieval System, Director of Governmental Affairs and Transportation for the Fresno City and County Chamber of Commerce and as Deputy Director for the Older Americans Organizations, a large multi-service agency serving the frail elderly in central California.
