Carol R. Naughton Carol R. Naughton has served as the executive director of the East Lake Foundation since 2001. Under her leadership, the nonprofit organization has worked with private and public partners to create a nationally-recognized model for community development that is helping to break the cycle of poverty in Atlanta's East Lake neighborhood. Before joining the East Lake Foundation, Ms. Naughton served as General Counsel and Deputy Executive Director for Legal and Nonprofit Affairs for The Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta. She played an instrumental role in revitalizing traditional public housing communities into economically viable, self-sustaining, mixed income communities. She also worked in the real estate group of the private law practice of Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan, where she represented developers, lenders and asset managers. Ms. Naughton received her undergraduate degree from Colgate University and her law degree from Emory University School of Law where she served as executive editor of the Emory Law Journal. |
